Implements quality control process sampling systems, procedures, and statistical techniques. Tests and inspects products at various stages of the production process and evaluates data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products. Influences, motivates, assists and trains DHI staff regarding quality practices.

Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, field representatives and employees.

Strong mechanical background, preferred. Ability to read and understand blueprints. Capability of utilizing precision measurement tools to quantify part acceptance.

Ability to work effectively with computer systems. Able to perform work with high level of attention to detail.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and conduct analysis of quality data.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

- Working knowledge of ERP / MRP II systems is desired.

- Past experience of three to five+ years, should include knowledge of plastics manufacturing.

- Background in developing and implementing quality programs. Background in QC, SPC, or ISO certification.


Duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.

1.Randomly selects product at various stages of production for evaluation of dimensional, cosmetic, performance or mechanical characteristics.

2.Documents the results of the product evaluations and immediately communicates any nonconformance to existing quality standards to proper staff, including ensuing shift.

3.Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality output within the limits of equipment capability.

4.Performs and documents the results of random audits of product processes and immediately communicates any nonconformance to existing quality standards to appropriate personnel, including all ensuing shifts.

5.Ensures that work instructions defining quality parameters for production and shipping are available and being used.

6.Performs destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics.

7.Provides input and recommendations for continuously improving quality throughout the division.

8.Maintains a clean and safe work area.

9.Assists in organizing participation in corrective/preventative action plans to ensure that customer and/or process quality issues are resolved.

10.Projects enthusiasm about the company through positive interactions with others, including internal and external customers. Interacts professionally with other divisions/departments.

11.Makes continuous efforts to improve personal levels of professional skills.
