Summary

Follows work instructions to build and cure several different products.  Uses computers to setup and run cure programs for the Press per specifications. Some lay-up and cutting of material is required.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to precarious places and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate requiring hearing protection in certain areas. 

Required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)

PPE is provided by SEKISUI Aerospace based on the employee’s position and exposure.


Duties:

Duties

  • Follow standard work instructions to load composite parts into the press using specified locations and make sure all hook-ups are properly in place before cure start. 
  • Occasionally layup composite parts as well as cut foam.
  • De-mold tools per work instructions as well as de-flash parts as required.
  • Carefully clean tools and apply chemical agents to the tools per work instructions to prepare tools for the lay-up team.
  • Start and monitor the cure cycle.
  • Visual quality checks all parts looking for defects.   Fill out check sheets as required per work instructions.
  • Claim parts in Plex and move them along to the next area that is called out for.
  • Rework parts that need it as designated by Engineering.
  • Follow all company safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify ways to eliminate waste from the production process, and work with others to improve safety, quality, delivery, costs and employee engagement.
  • Other duties as assigned

Location: Orange City, IA

Experience: Previous work in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
