S Production Department Supervisor 2nd Shift - Hood Packaging Corporation

 Supervises hourly employees(2nd shift - 4PM - 12AM) . All elements of supervision are performed including selection participation, safety, discipline, recognition, training, performance evaluations, etc.  

· Works with HR and production manager on screening and hiring of individuals. Ensures staffing levels are appropriate and responsive to business needs while controlling costs. 

· Ensures that machinery and product problems, including those relating to safety, are properly communicated to the appropriate individuals and taken care of. 

· Maximizes training opportunities so that all employees are trained to perform their assigned job with the highest degree of efficiency in a safe operating manner.  

· Works with production manager and plant engineer to keep production running (machine maintenance).  

· Improves operation by ensuring accurate production records are maintained 

· Assists the plant engineer and production manager by maintaining training needs. 

· Tours the production floor daily working and communicating with employees. Conducts routine crew meetings for all shifts to review new departmental information, revised procedures, policies, etc.  

· Works with production manager and plant engineer to maintain work schedules/policies/procedures.  

· Follows all SQF requirements and General Manufacturing Practices (GMP) 

· Assist in assuring HACCP, GMP’s Work Instructions, and Safe Quality Food System requirements (SQF) are in compliance.
