Job Description

This Job is a beginner to intermediate level of Production Tooling Tech.  This person must be able to work carefully and have a high attention to detail.  This person will work with multiple molds, fixtures, tools and their components.   The Production Tool Technician will work with their hands and stand, using hand tools to maintain molds fixtures and other tooling for production use. This person will need to be able to communicate with other Technicians and Engineers any concerns or issues that they see in order to keep making parts off the tools at a high quality.

Desired Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

  • Training on proper use of mold cleaners, and Mold sealers
  • Training on proper use of DA’s and Die grinders
  • Training on proper use of Dry Ice blasting equipment.
  • Observant personality.
  • Exposure to industrial manufacturing a plus
  • Familiarity with different molding processes beneficial.
  • Valid Iowa driver’s license.
  • Flexibility to alter work schedule to occasionally work around production schedules.

Schedule:

Day Shift: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, additional overtime hours as needed

Swing Shift: Monday – Friday, 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM, additional overtime hours as needed

Night Shift: Sunday – Thursday, 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM, additional overtime hours as needed

Duties:

Duties

  • Work with Manufacturing and tooling Quality to inspect the tools needed for the product being developed.
  • Understand the needs of Manufacturing
  • Use of Die grinders, Dual Action Sanders, files, stones and dry ice blasting equipment.
  • Use of Hand tools is necessary.

Computer Skills

  • Proficient computer skills.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to precarious places and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate requiring hearing protection in certain areas.   

Required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)

PPE is provided by SEKISUI Aerospace based on the employee’s position and exposure.

Location: Orange City, IA

Experience: Two year technical degree or 2 years' experience preferred. Completed training in proper software structure and techniques.

Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
