KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS |

|
1. Good basic math, reading, writing and verbal communication skills. |
|||
|
2. Be able to stand/walk up to 80% of the time, up to four hours at a time. |
|||
|
3. Be able to lift/carry two pails of ink; one in each hand; 45 lbs. each |
|||
|
4. Be able to handle and maneuver large bulky items safely; guards, cylinder carts, paper rolls, ink drums |
|||
|
5. Be able to handle and maneuver large items with a hoist. |
|||
|
6. Good vision color identification capabilities and hand/eye coordination. |
|||
|
7. Teamwork skills: work closely with the helper, other operators, supervisors, other departments and shifts. |
|||
|
8. Cooperation and flexibility: be willing to work in other areas of the plant when the need arises. |
|||
|
9. Be able to work safely; follow all safety and health rules to ensure the safety of yourself and others. |

IMPACT ON OPERATION |
|
|
|
|
The press operator positions is essential to a smooth production flow in the plant. High quality print must be provided to the converting operations in a timely manner to assure on time delivery to the end user. Quality, efficiencies, and on time delivery is vital to the profitability of this facility. |

PURPOSE OF POSITION |
|
|
|
|
To operator the machine to produce high quality print in a productive and efficient manner. |
|||
|
MAJOR TASKS |
|
|
|
|
1. Perform set-ups and change-overs; remove and install print cylinders, anilox rollers, doctor systems, etc. |
|||
|
2. Monitor the print during the run, make adjustments as needed. |
|||
|
3. Conduct quality checks to determine if the print quality is within spec. |
|||
|
4. Assure that the machine, equipment, tools, etc. is cleaned and properly maintained. |
|||
|
5. Train new press helpers or operators as needed. |
|||
|
6. Complete all paperwork in a neat and accurate manner. |
